Nourishing the Future: Habema Task Force Provides Free Nutritious Meals for Children in Papua Mountains

NDUGA - In a heartwarming effort to support government initiatives, the Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) Raider 503/Mayangkara, under the HABEMA Operations Command, held a Free Nutritious Meal Program for children at Rimba School, Mumugu Village, Krepkuri District, Nduga, Papua Mountains Regency, on Sunday (02/02/2025). This initiative aligns with the RI-PNG Mobile Border Security Operation, currently being carried out in Central Papua’s Puncak Regency.

The free nutritious meal program, which has been successfully implemented in various regions of Indonesia, inspired the Yonif 503/Mayangkara Task Force to bring the same initiative to their assignment area in the highlands of Papua. Led by Second Lieutenant Inf Yudi Riandoko, Pasiter of the Yonif 503/Mayangkara Pos Batas Task Force, along with 17 personnel, the team provided a balanced and nutritious meal to local children.

Despite the logistical challenges in this remote region, the spirit of the Mayangkara Knights remained undeterred. The children received a 4-healthy-5-perfect meal menu, consisting of rice, vegetables, fried chicken, and their favorite milk. “We are committed to supporting this government program. It may be simple, but it has a meaningful impact on those who need it most, ” said Second Lieutenant Inf Yudi Riandoko.

The Commander of the Yonif 503/Mayangkara Task Force emphasized the long-term vision of this initiative, stating that the program is not just about providing food but about ensuring the health and well-being of the next generation. "This Free Nutritious Meal Program not only aligns with the government’s efforts but also serves as a concrete step toward improving children's health by meeting their nutritional needs, " he affirmed.

The program was warmly welcomed by the local community, with parents and teachers expressing gratitude for the TNI's unwavering support in ensuring that children in remote areas receive proper nutrition.

HABEMA Commander, Major General TNI Lucky Avianto, praised the initiative, stating, “The Yonif 503/Mayangkara Task Force’s efforts to provide free nutritious meals to children in Mumugu Village demonstrate TNI’s dedication to addressing fundamental community needs and accelerating development in Papua.”

Through this initiative, the Habema Task Force continues to prove that their presence is not only about maintaining security but also about fostering hope, care, and a brighter future for the people of Papua.
